Lateran Treaty
The Lateran Treaty was established between Benito Mussolini and the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church Pope Pius XI in the year 1929. It made Vatican City an actual independent country and gave it independence from the affairs of Italy. Vatican City is the smallest country in the world.
