Lockport, New York
Lockport is a city in Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 20,876 at the 2020 census.[1] It is so named from a set of Erie Canal locks (Lock Numbers 34 and 35) within the city.[2] Lockport is the county seat of Niagara County. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Original northern five step lock structure crossing the Niagara Escarpment at Lockport now without gates and used as a cascade for excess water. Double 24+1⁄2-foot-high (7.5 m), 40-foot-wide (12 m) modern locks are to the left which replaced the original southern Flight of Five lock structure.
