Loretta Lynch

Loretta Elizabeth Lynch (born May 21, 1959) is an American attorney who served as the 83rd United States attorney general from 2015 to 2017.[1][2] She was also the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York from 1999 to 2001 and again from 2010 to 2015.

In November 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Lynch to succeed Eric Holder as Attorney General.[3][4] Lynch was later confirmed by the Senate and was sworn-in, becoming the first African-American woman U.S. attorney general in U.S. history.[5][6]
