Luhansk (Ukrainian: Луганськ, romanized: Luhans'kcode: uk is deprecated ; Russian: Луганскcode: ru is deprecated ) is a city in eastern Ukraine, near the border with Russia. It is the administrative center of the Luhansk Oblast. In 2020, 401,297 people lived there.

History

At the Lukhansk airport, Ukrainian soldiers were fighting from May to September 2024. Loss of Ukrainian control of the Lukhansk airport: On the night of September 1, 2014 the last remaining Ukrainian soldiers left the ruined airport; It was defended for 146 days.
