Lygia Fagundes Telles
Lygia Fagundes da Silva Telles (née de Azevedo Fagundes; Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈliʒiə faˈɡũdʒis ˈtɛlis]; April 19, 1918[1] — April 3, 2022) was a Brazilian novelist and writer. She won the Camões Prize. She was elected as the third woman in the Brazilian Academy of Letters in 1985. She was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.[2]

Telles died on April 3, 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil two weeks before her 99th birthday.[3]
