Madeleine Carroll
Edith Madeleine Carroll (26 February 1906 – 2 October 1987) was an English and American actress. At the peak of her success, she (at that time) was the highest paid actress in the world. She earned just over $250,000 in 1938.[1] She acted in movies and radio. She starred in several Alfred Hitchcock thrillers including The 39 Steps (1935) and Secret Agent.[2] She also played Gail in Honeymoon in Bali (1939).

Carroll was born in West Bromwich, England. She died from pancreatic cancer at age 81 in Marbella, Spain.[3]
