Margaret Weis (March 16, 1948 – ) was an American fantasy and science fiction writer and author of dozens of novels and short stories. She is one of the creators of the Dragonlance game world.

In 1983, Weis signed up for a job as games editor at TSR Inc. She didn't get that job. She was, however, hired as book editor. She worked in the TSR book division until 1986.

Weis was born in Independence, Missouri. She now lives in Wisconsin.
