His father, Kornel Morawiecki, was a politician and physicist who ran for president in 2010.

On 8 December 2017, Morawiecki was designated as the Prime Minister of Poland.[1] On 11 December he was sworn into office. Following his appointment, Morawiecki promised “continuation” rather than change in his first major parliamentary address.[2]
