McClellanville

McClellanville is a fishing and port town in eastern South Carolina. At the 2020 census, 605 people lived there. The history of this town began in the 1860s. It was incorporated in 1926.

In September 1989, McClellanville was hit by the northern wall of Hurricane Hugo. During this hurricane, a storm surge nearly drowned refugees taking cover in a high school.
