Memphis Chicks (Southern League)
The Memphis Chicks were a Minor League Baseball team from Memphis, Tennessee, that played from 1978 to 1997.[1] They played baseball at the Double-A (AA) level, the second-most difficult level before Major League Baseball (MLB), against other baseball teams in the Southern League.[1]

Their home stadium was called Tim McCarver Stadium.[2] The Chicks were partnered with four MLB teams: the Montreal Expos (1978–1983), Kansas City Royals (1984–1994), San Diego Padres (1995–1996), and Seattle Mariners (1997). The team was named "Chicks" because another team called the Memphis Chickasaws played in Memphis from 1901 to 1960.[1]
Memphis won the Southern League championship in 1990 as the Double-A partner of the Kansas City Royals.[3]

Ryan Franklin pitched two no-hitters for the Chicks in 1997.
