Merthyr Tydfil Railway Station Media
No excuse for including another end of the line shot from the South Wales Valley lines. Whilst many branches were visited just the once in July 1984, I revisited Methyr Tydfil twice in the next ten years or so on other trips. Seen on a visit on 4 April 1986 is Cardiff Canton allocated set C318 formed of cars 53197, 59369 and 53864.
Welsh: Gorsaf reilffordd Merthyr Tudful) is a train station in Merthyr Tydfil, a town in Wales. It opened in 1853.
Managed by Transport for Wales, it is the northern end of the Merthyr line that connects it to Cardiff Central.
It is a small station and only has one platform.
Services
The station has a train every half hour to and from Cardiff Central on weekdays and Saturdays. Trains to Cardiff usually continue past the city and end at Barry Island or Bridgend.
