Midori (violinist)

Midori Goto (五嶋 みどり, Gotō Midori, born October 25, 1971)[1][2] is a Japanese-born American violinist and educator. She made her debut with the New York Philharmonic at age 11 in 1982. She is seen as a child prodigy, and one of the world's best violinists as an adult.[3]

In 2007, Midori was appointed as a UN Messenger of Peace. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2012.[4][5]
