Midori Ito

Midori Ito is a female figure skater from Japan. She was the world champion in 1989. She won the silver medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics. She is one of only 15 female figure skaters who have done a ratified triple Axel in competition. Ito is credited with being the first woman to successfully complete a triple axel in competition.
