Mike Dunleavy (politician)
Mike J. Dunleavy (born May 5, 1961) is an American politician. He is a member of the Republican Party. He is the 12th and current Governor of Alaska serving since December 2018.[1]

He was a member of the Alaska Senate from January 15, 2013 until January 8, 2017.[2]
In 2017, he announced he would run for Governor of Alaska in 2018, but left the race in September 2017.[3] In December 2017, Dunleavy announced his return to the race for governor.[4] He would go on to defeat Democrat Mark Begich.
Personal life
He is married to Rose who is from the Kobuk River Valley community in Noorvik. They have three children together named Maggie, Catherine, and Ceil. All of them were raised in both urban and rural Alaska.[1]
