Miriam Peretz

Miriam Peretz (born 10 April 1954) is an Moroccan-born Israeli educator and politician. She is known for her lectures around the world on Zionism. Peretz was the recipient of the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement in 2018.[1]

In May 2021, Peretz announced that she would run for president of Israel in the 2021 election.[2] She lost the election on 2 June 2021 to former Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog.[3]

Peretz was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco.[4]
