Mirka Mora

Mirka Madeleine Mora (18 March 1928 – 27 August 2018) was a French-born Australian visual artist and cultural figure. She was born in Paris. Her work led to the creation of contemporary art in Australia. Her media included drawing, painting, sculpture and mosaic.

In 2002 Mora was made an Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture and Communication.[1]

Mora died, aged 90, in Melbourne on 27 August 2018 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.[2]
