National Competency Assessment
The National Competency Assessment is a nationwide educational assessment in Hungary mandated by Section 99 of the 1993 Act LXXIX on Public Education. It takes place every school year on the last Wednesday of May in all primary and secondary schools for students in grades 6, 8, and 10. Every student in these grades participates. (The exact date is set by the ministerial decree on the school calendar for that year.) The areas tested are reading comprehension and mathematical skills.
