The company has developed brain–computer interfaces (BCIs), also known as brain implants. [Some of] these implants, have one thousand electrodes (in a person).[4]
History
In 2016 Elon Musk and 7 other people created Neuralink.
In 2021 a monkey played Pong, while the monkey had a brain implant from Neuralink.[5] On January 29, 2024, Musk said that Neuralink had successfully implanted a Neuralink device in a human on the day prior. Musk said the patient is recovering, and added "Initial results show promising neuron spike detection".[6][7][8]
The number of people that have gotten brain implant (from Neuralink), is three (as of 2025's second quarter).[9][4]
