Nicolás Leoz

Nicolás Leoz Almirón (10 September 1928 – 28 August 2019) was a Paraguayan-Colombian sports executive. He was the President of CONMEBOL (South American Football Confederation) from 1986 to 2013.[1][2] On April 23, 2013, Leoz resigned from both the FIFA Executive Committee and the CONMEBOL presidency, citing health issues.[3]

Leoz died on 28 August 2019 of cardiac arrest while under house arrest in Asunción, Paraguay at the age of 90.[4]
