Novaya Gazeta
Novaya Gazeta (Russian: Новая газета, IPA: [ˈnovəjə ɡɐˈzʲetə], lit. New Gazette) is a Russian political[1] newspaper. They are known for their investigative coverage of Russian political and social affairs.[2]
They are known for being critical of Vladimir Putin and his government over human rights violations.
Seven Novaya Gazeta journalists, including Yuri Shchekochikhin, Anna Politkovskaya and Anastasia Baburova, have been murdered since 2000, in connection with their investigations.[3]
Their chief editor Dmitry Muratov won the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.[4]
