Paraplegia is paralysis of the legs and lower half of the body. It happens when the spinal cord is damaged. Sometimes, they are kept alive by a life-support machine. It sometimes happens to people because they get a disease.[1]
Superior paraplegia is a type of paraplegia where people cannot use their arms and the top of their body.[2]
A person who has paraplegia is sometimes called a paraplegic.[1]
