Paula Rego

Dame Maria Paula Figueiroa Rego (26 January 1935 – 8 June 2022) was a Portuguese-British visual artist. She was known for her paintings and prints based on storybooks. Her works were seen as abstract and used pastels. Her works were usually about feminism. She was the first artist-in-residence at the National Gallery in London.[1]

Rego died after a short illness, on 8 June 2022 in London at the age of 87.[2]
