Paulette Sarcey

Paulette Sarcey (11 April 1924 – 5 May 2020) was a French resistant.[1] She was a member of the French Resistance in World War II. She was born in Paris.

She changed her name to Martine while in hiding, but was captured by police of the Vichy Regime on 23 March 1943. She was taken to a small station of the Paris Police Prefecture. Sarcey was first taken to Drancy internment camp, then to Auschwitz on 23 June 1943. Following the death marches, she was taken to Ravensbrück concentration camp. She was freed on 2 May 1945.

Sarcey died on 5 May 2020 at the age of 96.[2]
