Peter Kassig
Peter Kassig (c. 1988 – c. November 16, 2014) was an American aid worker. He was the fifth Western hostage killed by Islamic State (IS).[2] Kassig was captured near Deir Ezzour, Syria.[3] He was on his way to deliver medical supplies and food to poor Syrians.[4]

On November 16, 2014, IS posted a video showing Jihadi John standing over a severed head but no beheading act. The White House confirmed the person killed was Kassig.[5] Kassig was 26 years old.[5]
