Quitman, Georgia
Quitman is a city in and the county seat of Brooks County, Georgia, United States.[1] The population was 3,850 at the 2010 census.[2] The Quitman Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

James Lord Pierpont (April 25, 1822 - August 5, 1893) was an American songwriter, arranger, organist, and composer, best known for writing and composing Jingle Bells in 1857, originally entitled "The One Horse Open Sleigh".
