Ray Perkins

Walter Ray Perkins (6 November 1941 – 9 December 2020) was an American football coach and player. He played as a wide receiver for the University of Alabama and Baltimore Colts. He later worked as a football coach for 28 years, including as the head coach for the New York Giants, the University of Alabama, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Arkansas State University. Perkins was born in Petal, Mississippi.

Perkins died on 9 December 2020 in Northport, Alabama from heart disease at the age of 79.
