Richmond County is a county in the U.S. state of North Carolina. In 2010, 46,639 people lived there.[1] Its county seat is Rockingham.[2]

A 1991 fire at the Imperial Food Products plant (pictured) in Hamlet led to 25 deaths and a record fine from state regulators.
