Robert Garcia (California politician)

Robert Garcia (born December 2, 1977) is an American politician who is the U.S. Representative for California's 42nd congressional district since 2023. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He was the Mayor of Long Beach, California from 2014 to 2023.

Garcia was born in Lima, Peru. He moved to the United States at the age of five. He is gay.[1]

In December 2021, Garcia announced that he would be a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022.[2] He won the election in November 2022.
