Change in End of life for CentOS 8
CentOS was acquired by Red Hat in 2014.[1] On December 8, 2020, it was announced that the CentOS project, previously a downstream branch of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, would be moving to CentOS Stream, an upstream development branch of RHEL.[2][3]
The maintenance schedule for CentOS 8 was also changed, ending full updates and maintenance updates on December 31, 2021.[4] As an aside, the maintenance schedule for CentOS 7 is unchanged, with maintenance updates ending on June 30, 2024.
