San Gorgonio Mountain

San Gorgonio Mountain is the highest peak in Southern California. The elevation is 11,503 ft (3,506 m). It is in the San Bernardino Mountains.

It is 27 mi (43 km) east of the city of San Bernardino and 12 mi (19 km) north-northeast of San Gorgonio Pass. It is within the San Gorgonio Wilderness, part of the Sand to Snow National Monument.

The mountain is named after the Saint Gorgonius by Spanish missionaries in the early 17th century.
