Second inauguration of William McKinley
The second inauguration of William McKinley as the 25th president of the United States happened on March 4, 1901. The inauguration was the beginning of the second four-year term of William McKinley's second term as president and the only term of Theodore Roosevelt as vice president. McKinley did not finish his second term because he died on September 14, 1901. His vice president, Theodore Roosevelt, would become the next president.
The ceremony happened on the East Front of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. It was the 29th presidential inauguration. This was the first inauguration to be held in the 20th century.
Chief Justice Melville Fuller gave the oath of office to McKinley.[1]
