Siverskodonetsk (Ukrainian: Сіверськодонецьк) or Severodonetsk (Russian: Северодонецк) is a city in Luhansk Oblast (province), Ukraine. It is the administrative centre of Sievierodonetsk Raion (district). In 2024, 40,000 people lived there.[1]
During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sievierodonetsk came under heavy attack from Russian forces and was the forefront of the Battle of Donbas. On 25 June 2022, Russian forces captured the city and occupied by separatist forces. About 90% of the buildings were damaged.
