Sinjar
Sinjar is a city in the north of Iraq. It is in Shingal District, Nineveh Province, near Mount Shingal. Many Yezidi people live in this city. In 2014, it was the site of the Sinjar massacre.[1][2]

The important Chermera temple (meaning '40 Men') is found on the highest peak of the Sinjar Mountains.
