Stavropoleos Monastery
Stavropoleos Monastery or the Stavropoleos Church (Romanian: Mănăstirea Stavropoleos or Biserica Stavropoleos), is an Eastern Orthodox monastery for nuns in central Bucharest, Romania that was built in the year 1724. The monastery was named after the Romanian version of a Greek word, Stauropolis, which means "The city of the Cross".
