Stavropoleos Monastery

Stavropoleos Monastery or the Stavropoleos Church (Romanian: Mănăstirea Stavropoleoscode: ro is deprecated or Biserica Stavropoleoscode: ro is deprecated ), is an Eastern Orthodox monastery for nuns in central Bucharest, Romania that was built in the year 1724. The monastery was named after the Romanian version of a Greek word, Stauropolis, which means "The city of the Cross".
