Abdominal pain

Abdominal pain (also called a stomach ache)[3][4] is a pain or ache in the abdomen. It is a symptom. Most of the time, stomach do not have serious underlying (hidden) cause and will go away on their own after a few days.[5]

| Causes | Serious: Appendicitis, perforated stomach ulcer, pancreatitis, ruptured diverticulitis, ovarian torsion, volvulus, ruptured aortic aneurysm, lacerated spleen or liver, ischemic colitis, ischaemic myocardial conditions[1] Common: Gastroenteritis, irritable bowel syndrome[2] |
Causes
It can be caused by different things, including food poisoning, indigestion, gastritis, hunger, appendicitis, kidney stones (renal calculi),[5] stomach cancer, an ulcer, or diverticulitis or menstruating (in females).[5] It can be caused by other conditions, like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or gallstones.[5]
Common causes for abdominal pain include a bloated feeling, or feeling sick, passing gas (farting), constipation, or watery poo.[5]
