Template:ISO 639 name xal is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code xal, for example: {{Translated page |xal |name of page at Kalmyk Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Kalmyk Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Kalmyk Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |xal}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|xal| some text in Kalmyk}} wraps the text with <span lang="xal"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Kalmyk-language text.
- {{R from other language|xal|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Kalmyk-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|xal}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Kalmyk-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
