This subtemplate of {{Infobox country}} is used to automatically add categories to articles which transclude this template. It should not be used directly

Establishment dates

The template tests to see if "Category:{{{year_start}}} establishments" exists. If so, the article is added. Otherwise, or if the year_start parameter is not used, the article is added to Category:Articles with infobox errors.

Disestablishment dates

The template tests to see if "Category:{{{year_end}}} disestablishments" exists. If so, the article is added. Otherwise, or if the year_end parameter is not used, the article is added to Category:Articles with infobox errors.

Notes on categorisation

The more specific categorisation system of "States and territories established in the {{{year_start}}}" (as used on the English Wikipedia) is disabled at present. It may be enabled in the future, when the Simple Wikipedia has a high enough number of former country articles to warrant such categories.
