Usage

To use this template, simply copy and paste the following text into the article and fill in any of the parameters. Only "name" is required.

Parameters

An explanation of what each parameter is. For more information, ask on the talk page.

  1. name — The name of the denomination
  2. image — Any image associated with the denomination (logo)
  3. imagewidth - width of image, default "200px." Recommend under 200px. Used when available image is low-resolution.
  4. imagealttext - alternative text to be displayed describing image.
  5. caption — A caption for the image
  6. main_classification — (Roman-Catholic, Protestant, Eastern-Orthodox, etc.)
  7. orientation — (main theology, i.e. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist, etc.)
  8. theology — (main theology, i.e. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist, etc.)
  9. polity — The appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  10. governance — The appropriate ecclesiastical polity
  11. structure - Organizational structure for groups that do not employ a standard ecclesiastical polity
  12. leader/moderator - The religious leader or moderator of the denomination
  13. leader - The religious leader of the denomination
  14. fellowships – names of distinct fellowships within the denomination
  15. associations — Names of inter-denominational associations the church is part of; e.g. International Conference of Reformed Churches
  16. area — Geographical area, e.g. North America and Japan
  17. website - Official website
  18. founder — The original founder.
  19. founded_date — Date of founding
  20. founded_place — Location of founding
  21. separated_from — Separation from (denomination)
  22. parent — If the denomination branched off of a parent denomination
  23. merger — If the denomination was the result of a merge
  24. separations — names of denominations that have split off from this denomination
  25. hospitals — number of church-operated hospitals
  26. nursing_homes — number of church-operated nursing homes
  27. aid — name of humanitarian aid organization run by the church, like Adventist Development and Relief Agency
  28. congregations — number of congregations
  29. members — number of members
  30. ministers — number of ministers/priests/pastors/...
  31. missionaries - number of missionaries
  32. temples - number of temples
  33. primary_schools — number of church-operated primary schools
  34. secondary_schools — number of church-operated secondary/high schools
  35. tax status- Internal Revenue Service Classification- if not 501c3
  36. tertiary — number of church-operated tertiary level colleges or universities
  37. other_names — alternative names by which the religion is known
  38. footnotes — any footnotes
