Usage

bgcolor	The colour of the background of the table
name	The name of the telescope (REQUIRED)
image	The image for the infobox (use full wikicode)
caption	A caption for the image
organization	The organization behind the telescope
location	Where the telescope is
coords	The coordinates of the telescope. Use {{coord}} with display=inline,title.
altitude	The height of the telescope above sea-level. Use meters.
weather	The normal weather at the telescope
wavelength	The wavelengths the telescope operates on
built	When the telescope was built (started–finished)
first_light	Date of first (celestial) observation
website	The URL of the website for the telescope
style	The style of the telescope
diameter	The diameter of the telescope
angular_resolution	The angular resolution of the telescope
area	The collecting area of the telescope
focal_length	The focal length of the telescope
mounting	How is the telescope mounted?
dome	Info on the telescope dome

For coordinates, use {{coord}} with display=inline,title. Please do not be overly precise.

Microformat

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. Within the hCard is a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit. Sub-templates

If the place or venue has "established", "founded", "opened" or similar dates, use {{start date}} for the earliest of those dates unless the date is before 1583 CE.

If it has a URL, use {{URL}}.

Please do not remove instances of these sub-templates.

Precision

When giving coordinates, please use an appropriate level of precision. Do not use {{coord}}'s |name= parameter.
