Template:Metacritic album/doc

< Template:Metacritic album

This is a template to generate links to Metacritic. This template should be used exclusively for ALBUM TITLES, that is, specifically for music.

To link a film, use {{metacritic film}} instead.
To link a made-for-tv movie, miniseries, or television series, use {{metacritic television}} instead.
To link a video game, use {{metacritic video game}} instead.

Usage

Vertical layout
{{Metacritic album
| id         =
| title      =
| accessdate =
}}
Horizontal layout
{{Metacritic album |id= |title= |accessdate= }}

Further Instructions

  1. Search on metacritic.com for the title you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the album's page.
  3. The page URL for an album should look like http://www.metacritic.com/music/TTTTTTT, with the TTTTTT being the album's title as used in the MetaCritic link (usually the album title in lower case with hyphens substituted for spaces).
  4. Copy ONLY that text that follows http://www.metacritic.com/music/
  5. Add to the external links section the text:
{{Metacritic album|id=TTTTTTT|title=Example}}
  1. You may define an access date also, using the following:
{{Metacritic album|id=TTTTTTT|title=Example|accessdate=YYYY-MM-DD}}
The title field is completely optional, and will default to the Wikipedia article title if left out.
accessdate is also an optional parameter, this will simply not be shown if not supplied.

Example

  1. For the page My Best Friend Is You, a search on Metacritic in the Music area gets you to this page: http://www.metacritic.com/music/my-best-friend-is-you
  2. Copy "my-best-friend-is-you" and then use it for the ID:
{{Metacritic album|id=my-best-friend-is-you}}

The result on the article page is:

My Best Friend Is You at Metacritic
