The book is edited by Douglas Brinkley. The unedited version of Reagan's diaries were published in 2009. Ronald Reagan was president for eight years. During his terms in office, Reagan wrote in his diary about conflicts with the Soviet Union, the Iran–Contra affair, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and his Alzheimer's diagnoses.[1] The edited diaries reached #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.
Reagan's original diary is on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
