Thomas Welder
Sister Thomas Welder, OSB, (born Diane Marie Welder;[1] April 27, 1940[2] – June 22, 2020[3]) was an American educator and Benedictine nun. She was President of the University of Mary from 1978 to 2009. She was born in Linton, North Dakota. Her tenure of 31 years set a record for female college and university presidents in the United States.[4][5]
Welder died on June 22, 2020 from kidney cancer in Bismarck, North Dakota at the age of 80.[3]
