Tintern
Tintern (Welsh: [Tyndyrn] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a village and community on the west bank of the River Wye in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is close to the border with England and about 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Chepstow. It is home to the ruined Tintern Abbey, which is popular with tourists. The village is designated as a Conservation Area.[2]

Tintern Abbey (Welsh: Abaty Tyndyrn) was founded on May 9, 1131. This is a view of the ruins from the East just as the sun rises over the hills. The inner courtyard is in view.
