Tony Garnett

Tony Garnett (3 April 1936 – 12 January 2020) was a British producer of movies and television and actor. He was born in Birmingham. He acted in mostly TV roles from the late-1950s until the mid-1960s. He is best known for his partnership filmmaker Ken Loach. With Loach, Garnett's credits include Cathy Come Home (1966), The Big Flame (1969), Kes (1969), Family Life (1971) and Black Jack (1979). Garnett's later movie credits include Prostitute (1980), Handgun (1983), Earth Girls Are Easy (1988) and Beautiful Thing (1996).
