Tosashimizu (土佐清水市, Tosashimizu-shi) is a Japanese city in Kōchi Prefecture on the Pacific coastline of the island of Shikoku.[1]

History
The village of Nakanohama in what is now Tosashimizu was the birthplace of Nakahama Manjirō, who was the first known Japanese to live in the United States in the mid-19th century.[2]
The modern city was established in 1954.
