Lead formatting

I don't know if you are aware, but italics are used for books, albums, tv series, films, but songs are not put into italics and are instead put in speech marks in text like "In the Summertime". This also means the italictitle template shouldn't be used on song articles. Thanks :). --IWI (talk) 19:50, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

I see. I remember that the Regular English Wikipedia adopted italics as an option for song titles a few years back when doing so began to catch on in the wider world, but I guess Simple has not done so. It is the case for long works like albums and books, but not short works. Enwiki's manual of style states:

Use italics for the titles of works (such as books, films, television series, named exhibitions, computer games, music albums, and paintings). The titles of articles, chapters, songs, episodes, research papers and other short works instead take double quotation marks.

I kid, of course. Yes, I know all about long-form vs short-form title presentation. I simply approve of using italics for songs because of the problems doing so avoids. Okay, real issue. How do I add them to the page? What I've done so far is click on the "Click here to create a discussion page" and then doing so. What's the extra step needed to make them appear on RfD Central? Darkfrog24 (talk) 16:50, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Add the page name in template brackets on the page like: {{Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/requests/2021/blah}}. Same as the others on the page. Alternatively, you can use Twinkle to automate the process. --IWI (talk) 16:58, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Data Deficient...

Hello Darkfrog24, I recently created the page Data deficient. It also shows a frog, which hasn't been seen since 1989. Can you have a quick look? - If you find a better example than the frog, feel free to replace the image.Thanks--Eptalon (talk) 23:56, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Good call. The golden toad isn't data deficient. It's considered extinct. The problem is that most data deficient species won't have pictures available. I'll see what I can do. Darkfrog24 (talk) 00:06, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

I created a redirect for "Data Deficient" (I think we might want to move the page there eventually), and clicked "what links here." Most of my DD froggies don't have pictures available, but turns out the megamouth shark does! We've also got the coconut crab and a bunch of shrews and other mammals to choose from. Added a picture of a chameleon of Madagascar. The coconut crab is listed as "vulnerable" at EnWP...--Eptalon (talk) 00:45, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
