Valentin Gapontsev
Valentin P. Gapontsev (23 February 1939 – 22 October 2021)[1] was a Russian-American billionaire. He was the founder, CEO, and chairman of IPG Photonics. His net worth was around US$2.3 billion when he died.[2] Gapontsev was born in Moscow.
Gapontsev died of cancer at a hospital in Houston, Texas on 22 October 2021, aged 82.[3][4]
