History
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1612 under the name Hideghpathak, and then in 1653 it was written as Hydeghpathaka.
In 1910, out of 1,026 inhabitants of the village, 3 were Hungarians, 211 were Germans, and 809 were Romanians. Of these, 812 were Greek Catholics and 211 were Jews.
