Biography

Maruyama was born in Setagaya, Tokyo on June 16, 1989. After graduating from Meiji University, he joined J1 League club FC Tokyo in 2012. However there were few opportunities to play. In 2014, he moved to J2 League club Shonan Bellmare on loan. He played many matches as center back. In 2015, he returned to Tokyo. He played many matches from summer 2015. In July 2019, he moved to Nagoya Grampus.

On October 11, 2016, Maruyama debuted for the Japan national team against Australia. He played 2 games for Japan in 2016.
