A. E. van Vogt
Alfred Elton van Vogt (/væn voʊt/; April 26, 1912 – January 26, 2000) was a Canadian-born American science fiction writer. He was one of the most popular science fiction writers in the mid-twentieth century.[1]

Van Vogt died at his home in Los Angeles on January 26, 2000 from Alzheimer's disease, aged 87.
